| Karla Pearce History Karla Pearce attended the Alberta College of Art and Design graduating in 1989. From there she continued her education at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology taking Computer Technology, and the University of Calgary where she studied English.
Karla Pearce currently has had her work shown by many Galleries throughout Western Canada, some of these are The Edmonton Art Gallery, Alternator Gallery - Kelowna, Nova Gallery -Calgary, Truck Gallery - Calgary Tolteck Gallery Crawford Bay. Her paintings have been seen locally at, ARTspace Gallery Trail, called The Firehall Art Gallery Rossland, The Main Stage art Gallery Rossland, Nelson Museum, Castlegar Museum, The Kootenay Gallery, the Nelson Public Municipal Library, Castlegar Library, and the Trail Library as well as various local venues around the area. Karla Pearce is the Writter and illustrator of a children's book called Anise and the Magic Fish.
Karla Pearce works a great deal with children creating public murals. Some of her most recent mural accomplishments are, the artistic coordination of a ten piece mural installation located in Trail's Memorial arena, five murals at Rosemont Elementary in Nelson, three sidewalk murals that were located at the Nelson Civic Centre and Nelson's Central School's fifty foot mural. All projects Pearce completed the work with local children. Karla has recently finished the on line coordination of a replica of Central School Mural Project located on a school's wall in Kitchlu Nagar, Ludhiana, Punjab, India. Karla Pearce writes an arts column The Creative Edge for, www.nelsonbc.ca , Artists in Canada, Artists in Canada , and The Kootenay Western Star. Pearce hosts an arts feature on Shaw TV Channel 10 " Plugged in" also called The Creative Edge. She is also the Publisher and Editor of a monthly magazine called SKAT ( Some Kootenay Arts Talk). paintings
Karla Pearce has been teaching adult and children's art classes since 1996. She currently teaches adult painting and drawing classes Selkirk College, and the Nelson, Castlegar, Rossland, and Trail Recreation Commission. Karla Pearce is the mother of three children and lives and paints in Blueberry BC.
