| Art Classes Children Looking for something fun and artistic for the kids? Why not try an Art Camp for children ages 7 to 13. This is a high energy creative art class taught by West Kootenay artist Karla Pearce. Kids get to try all different kinds of mind expanding creative activities while meeting new friends. Generally each day starts with College level gesture drawing. Karla has discovered that young artists generally, can do better at this than most adult art students. The daily activities then vary; kids try their hand at drawing, painting, printing, sculpture, crafts and even tye dye. Students also get to enjoy the great outdoors with daily art orientated field trips and a bit of plein air painting. While some supplies will be provided students should bring a snack, lunch and the following basic art supplies:
Drawing supplies: pencils and crayons (optional) oil pastels and colored chalk
Painting supplies: paint brushes, watercolor set
Paper: sketch pad white paper, colored paper pad
Other: eraser, scissors and glue stick
Also, for the tye dye portion to the class a white cotton shirt
Art classes are held through the Nelson Recreation Commission 354-4387, Castlegar Recreation Commission 365-3386, Trail Recreation Commission 368-6484 and Rossland Recreation Commission 362-7191 or for further info call 365-2032
